Server Macro Expansion

SMX (Server Macro Expansion) is an extensive macro processing language that was originally designed for developing financial reporting software.  SMX macro’s are easily embedded and displayed inline within HTML/XML pages.

Comparatively speaking, with SMX it should be easy it easier to develop simple dynamic websites than the likes of Perl or PHP.  Extensive documentation and sample code is available to get you started.  One of the example applications is an Image Captca.  Whilst the implementation is somewhat basic, it is created with only a few lines of code.

Perhaps a better working example of what can be achieved with SMX is the SMX Documentation Repository.  This has been created using the SMX language.   It also has a simple password protected administration interface to allow editing and updating of the documentation.  The full source code has also been made available on the website.

SMX  supports sqlite and ODBC for database driven sites.

When you are looking at developing your next dynamic website why not check it out?
