Balloon sculpting, modeling or twisting is the art of turning special modeling balloons into almost any shape imaginable.   Sculptures can be made from either single or multiple balloons, animals are a popular subject for balloon sculptures.

Balloon sculpting is not as difficult as you might think.  Once you learn the basic techniques; simple twist, lock twist, pinch twist, pinch ‘n’ pop, and apple twist you will be well on your way to creating works of art.

Let’s face it, what 5 year old or 50 year old for that matter doesn’t like to watch a balloon transform before their very eyes? On a recently ferry trip between the islands in New Zealand there was a clown doing balloon sculpting.  It made the time pass more quickly and kept the children entertained for a good portion of the journey.  But is wasn’t just the kids who enjoyed the show,  several parents ended up with balloon hats and other creations after the show.

If you have a child’s party coming up why not get in early and give it a go.  You don’t need to be a professional clown to do balloon tricks.  Just add them to the shopping list with your other party supplies.
